What We Do

Last Updated 12/23/2009 3:03:29 PM

El Camino Hospital Foundation raises money to support programs and services at El Camino Hospital in several ways. We host an annual golf tournament and gala, we send out direct mail appeals to current and prospective donors, and we run a yearly giving campaign for hospital employees. We plan educational events and tours for our major donors to keep them informed of new developments on the campus. We help donors plan legacy gifts and host an annual Allied Professional Seminar for estate-planning professionals so they can learn the latest information relating to charitable gift planning. Finally, we partner with other major benefactors to accomplish important health care objectives in our community.

Imagine Campaign for El Camino Hospital Phase II

In September 2008 the Foundation successfully concluded the first phase of its Imagine Campaign for El Camino Hospital and immediately announced the launch of Phase II. The original four-year campaign raised $25 million to develop state-of-the-art health care programs for the new hospital campus, including the Cancer Center, the Heart and Vascular Institute, the South Asian Heart Center, and the robotic surgical center, all designed to deliver advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies to patients in a highly personalized environment.  During that period, thanks to the philanthropic support of the community, the hospital won numerous awards for outstanding health care and achieved Magnet status for our nurses.

The goal of the Imagine Campaign’s second phase is to raise another $25 million, for a total of $50 million, to coincide with the hospital’s golden anniversary. These funds will provide continuing support to our excellent existing programs and enable us to develop new ones so that we can remain a leading provider of outstanding patient care. They will help to underwrite continued excellence at the Cancer Center and the Heart and Vascular Institute as well as at the pioneering Genomic Medicine Institute, the first Women’s Hospital in the Bay Area, and the recently established Neuroscience Institute. Phase II of the campaign will also provide donors with opportunities to make honor and memorial gifts on the new hospital campus.

Volunteer Opportunities

If you would like to work on our next event or learn about other volunteer opportunities through the El Camino Hospital Foundation, please contact Executive Director Lindsay Greensweig at 650-940-7154 or foundation@elcaminohospital.org.

Hope to Health (H2H) offers a volunteer and philanthropic opportunity for women in the community to support El Camino Hospital. Its members are women who care about women’s health issues and believe in the power of philanthropy. They meet monthly to discuss those concerns and determine how their philanthropy can best improve the health of women in the community. The dollars they raise have helped to underwrite health care for low-income women and provide comfort care packs for women cancer patients, support services for women caregivers and screenings for South Asian women at high risk for cardiovascular disease. For more information contact Development Director Lea Morgan at 650-940-7154 or email foundation@elcaminohospital.org.

H2H 4 Teens is a subcommittee of Hope to Health. Its members are young women ages 14-19 who desire to give back to their community by raising funds to support programs that will improve teenage health. For more information contact Development Director Lea Morgan or email foundation@elcaminohospital.org.
