The El Camino Hospital Auxiliary provides volunteer services to the hospital, its patients and the community; grants scholarships in health professions; and provides financial support for special projects.
The Hospital Auxiliary was organized in 1958 and was incorporated under the laws of the State of California in 1959. There are many opportunities for volunteer service as a Junior (ages 14 to 18 and in high school) or as an adult, at our Los Gatos location and our Mountain View location. Check out our opportunities for volunteer service, either as an adult volunteer or junior volunteer.
Adult Auxiliary volunteers include men and women over 18 years of age; junior Auxiliary volunteers are ages 14 to 18 and in high school.
Junior volunteers (ages 14 to 18 and in high school) are welcome to join our Auxiliary program. We appreciate the communities continued interest in our program however; there are currently no open positions at our Los Gatos or Mountain View campuses.
In late October 2010 we will determine the need for additional new junior volunteers. If we begin a recruitment period at that time, we will update this website with instructions on the process to receive an application and how to become a member of the El Camino Hospital Junior Auxiliary. We encourage interested junior volunteers to check back at that time.
Adult volunteers need to complete an application form (see below), have a personal interview with an Auxiliary Placement Counselor, and then pass a background check and a health check, both provided by the hospital at no charge to the applicant. Adult membership requires an annual $20 fee and commitment of 12 hours per month, for a minimum of six months. Most Auxiliary volunteers also wear a uniform, part of which may be purchased in the Auxiliary office.
